Bedhead Is Finally In
In an earlier issue this year, Vogue FINALLY came clean and featured an article called “YOU CAN FALL OUT OF BED AND LOOK GOOD” by Stephanie Rosenbloom. The “look” the article said, for 2012 is imperfection. I clipped this article and realized that now that we are well into 2012 that I had better get on trend and get going with my true imperfectionism. So the other day, I officially gave it a go. And here is what happened.
I got up, and left my quasi-clean hair in its “bed-head” state. The article said to not wash your hair everyday. Okay. done. I applied my make-up with carefree abandon, that is, I tried hard not to use cover-up on my age spots and giant red pores. I “smudged” my make up to look like it said to in the article. I skipped the mascara and didn’t make a statement with my brows. Good thing my brows are disappearing anyway so how on trend lucky is that?? The report said the look was as if you were coming home from the party and not going to the party. Really? Cool. Guess I can wear my wrinkled pants and shirt today and not sweat the pressed and clean look. I am really thinking this trend could work for me. Then, I took a good look in the mirror. It wasn’t pretty. It was pretty pathetic. My husband asked me if I was ill.
I’m not sure who this trend is for? Maybe 20 something models who would look good in a paper bag with no make-up and exceptionally dirty hair? Alas, it’s off to the shower and to my blow-dryer. Trends be damned!
