Bang Me
I heard that they look good on everyone and I’m looking for an easy makeover. Bangs can minimize large foreheads, help control annoying cowlicks or disguise forehead lines. Did someone say lines? But when I asked my hairstylist about it, I had an instant anxiety attack because I had no idea that there were so many different kinds of bangs. The problem is that I have an oval shaped face and that is considered to be a face shape that can wear any type of style or hair.
So, here are my way too many choices:
Blunt Bangs – Worn just below the eyebrow. These forehead fringes are cut straight across from side to side. These would be a big NO.
Side Swept Bangs – Cut so that the hair tapers from shorter to longer lengths and is extended generally from a side part with the hair brushed to sweep across the forehead. Maybe.
Parted Bangs – Usually worn as a modified version of blunt bangs, these bangs are cut so that they part slightly either in the middle of slightly to the side. Another maybe.
Choppy Bangs – A modified version of blunt bangs, these bangs are cut with scissors and then texturized with a razor for a choppy look. Choppy bangs provide increased depth to the facial features. This would be a ballsy choice but hip, I think.
Asymmetrical Bangs – These bangs have widely varied lengths with one side being a lot shorter than the other side or the middle being a lot shorter than either side. These might look like I did them myself. F’ that.
Disconnected Bangs – These bangs have extreme angles that often plummet drastically from side to side. Blunt edges are cut into the bangs at unexpected locations and lengths. This sounds a little psycho to me and although it fits my personality…NO WAY.
I may have to buy a clip on until I can pull the trigger. Is there such a thing as a safe bang?

I’ve been banging for years.I’d start with the side bangs if you’ve never had them.I am growing them out now and have mini blunts. They don’t go all the way across, about mid eyebrow to mid eyebrow..The side remains of the pieces are almost to my chin. (goal here is to get more length- plan on hacking it all off and donating by next summer).I say just do it.
